Flavor Profile: Complex and easy drinking coffee from the San Vicente Yogondoy community in Oaxaca. Flavors of orange zest, honey, and cinnamon are supported by layers of toasted marshmallow and roasted almond with just a hint of lime zest. Reachable only by a 2-3 hour journey on foot or mule, the farms of Yogondoy are covered by a thick canopy of native shade trees and cooled by breezes from the Pacific ocean. In the Zapotec language Yogondoy means ‘river of bees’ due to the indigenous tradition of farmers keeping beehives for honey and pollination. Zapotec traditions are still alive and well in the community including the practice of Tequio, a communal workshare that comes into play during harvest and off-season renovations. Washed Plum varietal. 1500-1700 masl
